I wanted to say thank you for the spring cleanup! It was a nice surprise when they showed up – I didn’t know they were coming, but I was already outside working on pruning out the deadwood in the front yard. Doug and his helper did such a nice job. Doug is so meticulous and I just love how he puts his whole heart into his work. He even swept up the sand and gravel left after the snowplow piles melted. The place is ready for a garden party! All it needs is to green up.

There was a lot of brush to pick up – the winter was really hard on the shrubs and the trees. I did the pruning before they got here, and they hauled it out. The guys were even good enough to pick up the branches from my neighbor’s cherry tree, which took a hit in the last storm (after surviving the whole winter, that last little bit did it in!) That really filled up the truck…Looking forward to the warm weather, and another year of great looking lawn with you guys!

"This is my second year with Organic Soil Solutions. My husband is a BIG proponent of chemical fertilizers, but with two dogs running around the yard, I didn't want to have them exposed to a lot of pesticides and herbicides. This year the yard took a beating with the extreme heat and lack of water, but it stood up pretty well and now that the cooler weather is upon us, it is rebounding. The philosophy is that with proper seeding and watering weeds will be crowded out. They also test your soil before doing any treatments to make sure it is properly pH balanced and will work at getting it back into shape. The crew comes 6 to 7 times during the season. They have always been polite, and make sure the gate is latched before leaving."

They did a really good job…The crew he sent out was very polite and thorough. Every time they came out and seeded or put down fertilizer they left a note in the mailbox. The note would say what they did and also gave you some education on how to take care of the lawn. It would mention what it needs, what the timing would be and what to expect, so that you have a good handle on what is going on…Their prices were probably the best that I found and the service has been great. They also contact everybody towards the end of the year to give them a yearly contract.

The owner seems to be extremely knowledgeable about organic soil and lawn care, and the company chose treatments based on the needs of my lawn. It's too soon to see the full impact on my formerly sad-looking lawn, but I sleep better at night knowing they took a good look at what my lawn needed instead of applying a cookie-cutter approach, and that there aren't any harmful chemicals involved. Despite the individual attention, expertise, and specialty organics, their prices weren't any more than a traditional lawn service, and were less on some services. I wish I'd have found them sooner. Try this in lieu of traditional chemical services…it seems to work better, and without any concerns about harm to kids, pets, wildlife, etc. We love that you offer safer, innovative options!

Michael responded promptly to my request for an estimate for lawn care. He came out when he said he would and gave me a lot of good information. He really knows his stuff. Shortly thereafter he mailed me a proposal. The cost was fairly competitive with other quotes I received, but I believe the quality of the products and the service will be much better. He also tailors the service to each lawns specific needs. I was very impressed with Michael's knowledge of organic lawn care. He was happy to answer all my questions and tell me about some of his research. It is reassuring to know that I can have a natural lawn that won't harm the environment or my children and pets. I found Michael to be very responsive and very professional.

With a new toddler grandchild I wanted to get rid of all chemicals in the lawn. Michael came promptly and explained what he would do. He also gave me a folder of information on what he would be doing and what I needed to do to keep up the lawn. Unlike the competition, he planned to do top-seeding in the spring and do the permanent reseeding in the late summer when the likelihood of success is highest. He came promptly and did the soil test and spread corn gluten. In early May he came and top seeded the weak area with compost etc. I must say it looks better than it ever has. He will continue with treatments through the summer and in late summer/early fall will reseed the whole area to hopefully get a permanent good lawn area.

Doug, the man who mows the lawn, is one of the most dedicated people we know. He really understands grass. Doug is polite, reliable and totally responsible. The charge of $60 per cut is in line with other services and he only cuts when the grass needs cutting, instead of cutting every week whether or not the grass needs to be cut.
